  ECE2104 Families and Society
This course introduces students to the changing nature of the form, structure and function of the family in our contemporary society.

ECE2109 Educational Partnerships in Early Childhood
This course focuses on partnerships in early childhood contexts and will assist students to understand the influence of formal and informal collaborative networks and productive partnerships among the community, child, family and the early childhood setting.
ECE2112 Understanding and Managing Young Children
This course focuses on the skills, behaviours and theories that underpin encouraging considerate behaviour in children. It aims to develop students' understanding of children's behaviour, based on the discipline.

ECE3003 Teacher as Action Researcher
Students will pursue an in-depth study of a topic relevant to the field of early education, and in particular to the student's own context.

ECE3103 Play-based Pedagogies in Early Childhood
Play resides as a central theme within the course, and students examine the role of play as integrative in the curriculum. It explores children's thinking and communication, in-depth skills in the documentation and interpretation of play.

ECE4009 Early Childhood Professional
This course will introduce beginning early childhood educators to employment and management issues which will be expanded in a subsequent administration course and will offer professional development designed to assist with individual career commence-ment. It will incorporate practical skills for early childhood educators seeking employment, working with other staff and the community.

ECE4010 Administration of Early Childhood Services
This course will introduce students to the key elements of leadership, management and administration for early childhood settings; the value and importance of personal professional reflection; and the role of and support provided by community and government agencies.

ECE4012 Cross Cultural Communication in Early Childhood
This course will examine the relationship of language and culture to communication in the classroom and wider school community context. It will provide an introduction to second language teaching pedagogy, including the communicative approach and reflective practice, study of second language learning and development, and the impact of the linguistic, socio-cultural, psychological and psycho-linguistic factors that impact on second language learners.

ECE4104 Diversity in Early Childhood Education
This course explores how diversity in learning and development in young children encompass individual variations in temperament, culture and experience and ability differences ranging from gifts to disabilities.

ECP1002 Professional Experience
10 days 0-4 yr olds

ECP2001 Professional Experience
5 days @ 1 day/week 4-5 yr olds,
5 day block in preschools

ECP2002 Professional Experience
10 day block 4-6 yr olds
